MUSIC FOR A DYING
SEASON
DEAD OKTOBER is
Michael C Winchester (USA). His whole art is connected to the darkside,
the scary face of our life which gets here, an introspective
inspiration, a rebellion against our false way of being and thinking.
His site is a gallery of art and music inspired by the insane, featuring
good links on several horror films and cineasts like John Carpenter,
Tobe Hooper and others. Listen to his techno industrial horror music as
he calls it: "Music for a dying season", dedicated to horror
films, he's actually working on a piece inspired by the movie: "The
Texas chainesaw Massacre". A good piece of work you can now listen
(download the mp3) and others like "Disturbed",
"Extermination", "Fear" etc .... Good vibes and
soundscapes, sometimes ambient but the nightmare is still here. Be
scared gets an enjoyment, a strenghth, an inspiration , etc ...
It is the
"DEAD OKTOBER's Halloween feast" with macabre dances, and dark
visuals ... for the rebirth when Death leads you to creativity.
I like his words on
the dying season: October ...
“October... the
month is my favorite time of year. Where I live, in the
Northwest... outside of Portland, Oregon, the trees start to change
colors and it is truly the 'dying season'. I very much enjoy the colors
of it all, the smells, the cooler days, the grey skies and the rain.
Also,
Halloween is my favorite holiday. Truly the only one I look forward to.
I wish society was open minded enough that one could choose to
go out in costume any day of the year, or that I was brave enough to
do so. In October my creative energy is strong... so strong it's hard to
stay focused and finish one project before jumping to another. My
mind races. It occured to me, that the time of year and energies of
nature at this time, drive something in me that I can not explain. But
one thing I know, it's where I create from, where my muse comes
from... so when I create... I am Oktober. The music, 'Dead Oktober'
comes from my love of horror and the death of nature and this time
of year... it seemed natural that the 'dying season' should be Dead
Oktober...”
